Applying is simple
Follow these steps to begin the application process.
1. Identify areas that can be more energy efficient
First determine which equipment needs to be upgraded in your business. Then decide what kind of pathway best suits your needs. If you need a contractor you can find one in our contractor database. Prior to submitting, be sure to request your contractor submit your application as part of your project agreement.
Have questions? Don’t worry. We’re here for you. Contact us and we’ll walk you through the process.
2. Set up an account
After energy efficiency projects are identified, visit our online application portal to set up an account in order to submit applications for incentives.
3. Submit an incentive application
Fill in all necessary information related to your energy efficiency project. Projects must be submitted through our online application portal to reserve funds. To streamline the process, feel free to use our application checklist:
- Copy of current PPL Electric Utilities bill
- Cost estimate (e.g., scope of work, proposal or project quote)
- Manufacturers’ specification sheets for qualifying equipment
- Savings estimator(s), as needed for equipment and systems
- Completed, signed W-9 with tax identification on the most current IRS version (Rev. 2024)
- Completed, signed Third Party Authorization Form, if the payee is not the customer
Incentives are not reserved without a complete application, including all supporting materials.
4. Pre-review and on-site verification
If we didn’t assist in the initial assessment, our program team may need to verify the facility and project information for pre-approval purposes. Contact us to determine if that’s the case. Based on the application’s timelines and scope, we will calculate preliminary incentives and energy savings. Once reviewed and approved, we will notify you via email of your estimated savings and incentives. The program reviews applications as received and takes about 15 business days to complete a pre-approval once all documents are received in good order.
5. Installation
The contractor will then move forward with your chosen installations and upgrades. Please notify us immediately of any changes to the project scope, equipment selection or completion timeline.
6. Submit all required documentation
Upon completion of the project, you’ll need to submit your payment request along with all required supporting documentation. This includes any project scope changes, updated estimators and an itemized invoice associated with the project. Depending on the project type, additional data or information may be requested. This completes your application for final review.
7. Final review
The program and engineering team will review all final documentation. An on-site or phone verification may be required in addition to project-specific data gathering.
8. Receive your incentive check
Once your final application has been approved, an incentive check will be sent to the contact specified in the application. The incentives are issued approximately four to six weeks after final project approval.
